Concrete aid for the Covid-19 emergency

Reale Group and Reale Foundation take their first concrete steps to help those working to fight the emergency and support Coronavirus research.

This is an emergency that threatens us all, in Italy and beyond. Reale Group and Reale Foundation are taking concrete action to support those on the front line.

Reale Mutua has donated € 5 million to contribute to cover the needs of Italian health care facilities with specific measures in response to the emergencies having to be dealt with day by day.

Playing a tangible role right from the start, Reale Foundation, the corporate foundation of Reale Group, immediately activated its own Emergency Protocol, launching support measures to deal with the impacts of the ongoing pandemic.

Multi-parameter monitors, lung ventilators and portable pulse oximeters

Reale Group also supports Sicilian healthcare in tackling the Covid-19 emergency and donates 90,000 Euro to the Garibaldi Hospital in Catania for the purchase of medical devices such as multi-parameter monitors, lung ventilators, portable pulse oximeters, as well as other medical devices for the emergency’s management. A concrete action that provides an adequate health care for those who show the most serious symptoms of the Coronavirus’s spread.

600 Covid-19 tests at the Cottolengo Hospital Analysis Laboratory

The early detection of Coronavirus infection seems to be increasingly crucial both in promptly intervening and in limiting the spread of the virus. For this reason, in Piedmont, a region amongst the most affected by the emergency, Reale Group has decided to donate 600 Covid-19 tests to the Piccola Casa della Divina Provvidenza in Turin to be completed in the Analysis Laboratory of the Cottolengo Hospital.

Purchase of 2 blood gas analysis devices and 2,000 masks at the Vito Fazzi Hospital in Lecce

Reale Group’s real commitment is also embodied in Puglia, where the spread of Coronavirus is currently progressing, and for which 90,000 Euro have been donated for the purchase of 2 devices for blood gas analysis and 2,000 masks for the Complex Operative Unit of Infectious Diseases at the Vito Fazzi Hospital in Lecce. A first concrete testimony of Reale Group's closeness to the population of the Puglia Region.

Reale Group continues its concrete support actions to counter the COVID-19 emergency by donating 60,000 Euro to the Intensive Care Unit of the Parma University Hospital for the purchase of 63 infusion pumps. A concrete action to overcome an increased chance of providing adequate health care for those who show the most serious symptoms of the Coronavirus’s spread.

Donation for the purchase of medical material for hospitals in Sardinia

To address the Covid-19 emergency, one of the actions promoted by the Reale Group relates to supporting hospitals with the availability of various medical materials. For this reason, Reale Group has decided to donate 50,000 Euro to the non-profit Dynamo Foundation for the purchase of such medical material to be distributed to hospitals in the Sardinia Region.

2 ozone therapy generators and 1 defibrillator monitor to the University Hospital of Udine

Reale Group has decided to make a contribution for the purchase of two ozone therapy generators and a defibrillator monitor for the helicopter rescue at the University Hospital of Udine. Ozone therapy generators are particularly useful in the early treatment of COVID-19 patients. The defibrillator monitor for helicopter rescue will instead contribute to the response in very serious situations.

Two defibrillators for the Red Cross in Milan

Reale Group'spriority objective is to support those who support. For this reason, among the actions aimed at making a contribution to countering the emergency COVID-19, there is the donation of two defibrillators to the Red Cross in Milan. A small contribution that wants to give a concrete testimony of the Reale Group’s closeness to all operators, volunteers and non-volunteers who have been working in recent weeks to fight the spread and consequences of Coronavirus.

Piedmont is one of the regions most affected by the emergency and for this reason Reale Group has decided to support various actions put in place by subjects of the regional health care which is being severely tested by the Covid-19 emergency. Among these, there is the project of the non-profit Medicina a Misura di Donna that will provide 150,000 surgical masks for the Sant'Anna Hospital in Turin.

The support is aimed at developing an epidemiological study conducted by researchers of the Papa Giovanni XXIII Hospital in Bergamo.

Resources to disinfect and provide material to nursing homes

Reale Seguros, within its package of urgent measures to help alleviate the situation of the groups most affected by COVID-19, collaborates in the disinfection and provision of medical equipment for healthcare personnel. Home delivery of medicines for chronic patients

Reale Seguros will participate by financing a program of Banco Farmacéutico volunteers for the home delivery of medications to people with chronic treatments and patients with psychological / psychiatric treatment. It will be carried out in collaboration with DHL and the delivery area will be Vallecas (South of Madrid), which has also been affected by the slowdown in economic activity.

Medical research with the La Paz University Hospital in Madrid

Reale Seguros collaborates on a research project with the Research Institute of the La Paz University Hospital in Madrid. The goal is to classify patients with coronavirus at the time of hospitalization, in order to predict their evolution, as well as to propose treatment with immune checkpoint inhibitors, which block the entry of the virus into cells, for those with worse prognosis.

The project is led by Hu-Ci (Humanizing Intensive Care) who hired 10 experienced psychologists who participated in 10 intensive care units in the Community of Madrid. Its function will be to psychologically support professionals, patients and families.

The FAST Triage“ First Assessment and Sequential Triage” is a system useful in In-hospital triage during large inflows of patients in cases of calamities or pandemics. The “Distance learning” project offers schools in Turin support to carry out live distance lessons but also 100 blocks of 100 hours of personalised lessons for students with special needs. Sanitizing material for employees of the Municipality of Turin

One of the first actions that must be put in place to fight Covid-19 is prevention. Prevention also means providing protection tools for those who must guarantee a public service. Reale Foundation has donated 500 litres of sanitizing liquid to the Municipality of Turin to be distributed to all employees of this Municipality who are in contact with the public. The delivery and distribution of the material was possible thanks to Banco Farmaceutico.

Two lung ventilators donated to the I.R.C.C.S San Raffaele Hospital

Reale Foundation has donated to the I.R.C.C.S. San Raffaele Hospital of Milan two lung ventilators to set up the new intensive care unit. Like other respiratory diseases, the new Coronavirus infection can cause severe symptoms such as pneumonia and breathing difficulties. The acquired equipment will remain in the hospital’s availability even after the emergency, thus guaranteeing full equipment for the intensive care beds.
