In recent years, the presence of the therapeutic clown in hospitals and care spaces has demonstrated a significant impact in improving patient experience, reducing stress and promoting a more humane environment. However, there is still a lack of systematic and structured training that can guarantee quality, continuity and recognition for this practice.
The experience gained by Pupaclown and Sonrisólogos, active for over 17 years with interventions in hospitals and shelters, has highlighted a growing demand for training from professionals and institutions in different territories. Hence the urgency of a dedicated school, able to systematize, professionalize and disseminate this approach.
What the project involves
The school intends to train therapeutic clown professionals who know how to integrate artistic skills and relational sensitivity to emotionally accompany patients and people in vulnerable situations. The course includes theoretical lessons, practical workshops and supervised internships in hospitals and social facilities, enhancing the art of the clown as a tool for treatment and humanization
The initiative is founded on principles of ethics, professionalism and innovation, integrating art and play into health contexts to promote well-being, dignity and emotional support.
The beneficiaries
The direct beneficiaries are the professionals who will take part in the training course, carrying out supervised practices at the Hospital Sótero del Río and the Casa Sagrada Familia. Through their interventions, more than 500 patients will be reached per month, in addition to healthcare personnel and hospitalized children, generating a positive and continuous impact on the hospital community.
Indirect beneficiaries are the families of patients and, more generally, the network of health facilities that will host the interventions, helping to spread a culture of humanization of care.
