In Bollate the number of young people with disabilities –in particular with autism spectrum disorders – and NEET children who struggle to find job opportunities, training and social participation is growing. There is a lack of accessible educational spaces, opportunities to meet and paths to autonomy. The risk of exclusion and margins is high, but the territory also expresses a strong desire to build solidarity networks.
The ETS Il Pentolino responds to this need with “The oven band”, a project that combines training, sociality and support for families, transforming a baking and cooking laboratory into a point of reference for the whole community.
What the project involves
The project proposes educational and training courses for young people with and without disabilities, NEETs and minors at risk of exclusion.
Through experiential workshops, pre-work activities and moments of sociality, participants acquire practical and transversal skills, develop autonomy and strengthen their sense of belonging to the community.
“The oven band” is also an inclusive and accessible space, which becomes a meeting place between families, operators and local realities. The initiative aims to build a stable and collaborative educational network, capable of enhancing diversity and generating concrete opportunities for socio-economic growth.
The beneficiaries
The project directly involves between 15 and 30 young people, with and without disabilities, who participate in training and pre-work courses. Families receive support and tools to meet daily challenges, while the entire community is invited to participate in public events and initiatives, promoting a culture of inclusion and sharing.
The project, supported by two local partners, involves the creation of a dedicated accessible space, the creation of three public events and the construction of a territorial support and collaboration network.
