For over twenty years, Protezione Civile volunteers have worked tirelessly to deal with local and national emergencies, putting the safety of people and the defense of the territory at the centre.
The experience gained in events such as the floods in Nonantola (2020) and Emilia (2023) testifies to the competence and dedication of a team always ready to intervene. With the entry of the City of Ceresara and new volunteers, the association has expanded its operational strength and today aims to further strengthen its intervention capacity with the purchase of a new vehicle equipped for flood risk.
What the project involves
The project involves the purchase of a special vehicle, built to technical specifications, equipped with clean water and sewage motor pumps, electric pumps, generators, light towers and personal protective equipment. An indispensable vehicle for operating safely and quickly in hydraulic and hydrogeological emergency scenarios.
Thanks to this enhancement, the association will be able to:
- guarantee rapid interventions in the local and provincial territory (within 2 hours) and regional territory (within 6 hours);
- support command structures in the event of natural disasters;
- respond more effectively to a growing number of climate change emergencies.
The beneficiaries
The project concerns the entire community: citizens, families, companies and schools who will be able to count on better equipped civil protection ready to face increasingly frequent natural events.
Indirect beneficiaries will also be local, regional and national institutions that make use of the work of volunteers to manage emergencies.
