The project reaches schools in the Metropolitana, Valparaíso and O'Higgins regions, areas with a high concentration of economically disadvantaged young people, from precarious urban employment in Santiago and Valparaíso to seasonal, informal work in O'Higgins. In these high-vulnerability schools, students face real barriers to financial inclusion alongside easy access to consumer spending, without ever having had formal economic education, leaving many exposed to entering adulthood already carrying debt they don't fully understand.

The project

The project strengthens the financial health of 600 students through a digital literacy programme covering budgeting, saving, investment, cybersecurity and financial risk, delivered via an online learning platform paired with corporate mentoring that connects the theory to real workplace demands. It closes with an in-person bootcamp, where students compete in teams to solve a real financial challenge.

Fifteen teachers are trained as classroom facilitators, so the programme's tools stay usable in these schools well beyond the project itself. Equipping students to budget, manage risk and plan savings before they turn 18 helps them enter adulthood on steadier footing, protecting their future household's stability and opening up real social mobility.

Who the project is for

The project's direct beneficiaries number 615 people: 600 students from high-vulnerability schools in the three regions, who complete the full financial literacy programme, and 15 teachers trained to support it going forward.

Its impact reaches further, to an estimated 1,800 people, based on average household size, as the budgeting and risk-management skills these students learn shape decisions and stability across their own families.
