Asociación de Ayuda a Niños Oncologicos de Galicia carries out recreational-educational activities in different areas of the Hospital Álvaro Cunqueiro de Vigo - Pontevedra. These include the hospital classroom, the day hospital, and the rooms, which create a meeting point to support the holistic development of children and adolescents with cancer.
What the project involves
RecreArte provides children and adolescents with cancer and their families with continuous support throughout their treatment, always considering the hospital team’s conditions and guidelines.
The project offers genuine moments of respite through rest and play with creative activities, helping to reduce feelings of stress and anxiety.

The beneficiaries
In Spain, around 1,500 cases of childhood and youth cancer are diagnosed every year, including approximately 60 in the Galician community. This project aims to provide social and educational assistance to families in Vigo, where an average of 10 cases per year are diagnosed. The number of direct beneficiaries is estimated at 130, while the number of indirect beneficiaries amounts to 350.
