Leisure and sports activities are deemed less important than therapies for people with disabilities. But if one wants to work on inclusion and development, it is actually essential to strengthen all areas, places, and situations in which people with disabilities can experience autonomy and group fun. Being together and doing the same things creates important connections.
What the project involves
The Associazione Ama.le IQSEC2 has organised several inclusive activities in the municipality of Prali in recent years. By creating a route accessible to people with disabilities within the adventure park, the Association will be able to enrich the activities offered to people with disabilities through “Love the mountain”, a three-day summer camp held in the Prali municipality that is attended by around 90 people each year.
Expected Outcomes
- Making life lighter and more fun for people with disabilities through opportunities for integration with able-bodied peers
- Enhancement of personal autonomy
- Completion of the route by the 2025 summer season, making it available to the CAI [Italian Alpine Clubs] for mountain therapy activities
The new route will allow around 150 people with disabilities to use the park per year, but will also be available to all park users, as it is not for exclusive use, as well as schools and summer centres.
