The Brigada Juvenil (Youth Brigade) is located in the municipality of La Florida, very close to Puente Alto, where it is now common to encounter delinquency, as well as drug trafficking. This is why the Brigade is a real and accessible alternative for young people in these communities, where they can be part of a voluntary institution that keeps them active and trains them.

What the project involves

To continue and improve the quality of the Brigada's activities, its equipment needs renewing (uniforms and facilities), so as to keep its volunteers motivated and attract new ones, nurturing a Brigade with 24 years’ activity that has been part of a Company active for 91 years. This update will also help strengthen the bond between members, promoting team spirit and ensuring continuity of the group's distinctive traditions and values over time.

Expected Outcomes

  • Participation in a voluntary activity
  • Moving away from vices and risky behaviour
  • Concrete contribution to the community

The beneficiaries

The direct beneficiaries will be the 25 children and adolescents currently in the ranks of the fire brigade and the new minors who are added each year. It is estimated that the number of new kids entering the institution will increase by 10%, reaching 30% in the second year.

The indirect beneficiaries will be the people who today benefit from the work of the fire brigade.
