The increase of events and diseases associated with DC-I and the difficulties of treatment cause an increasing demand for care for which innovative treatments and research programmes must be developed.

The synergy between ISAL and San Raffaele Sulmona created Tecno-Algos, a centre for DC-I care and research where innovative projects and treatments are tested.

What the project involves

The aim is to support the Tecno-Algos hub and experimentation with the RV-SS model, to guarantee access to pain therapy services characterised by excellence, innovation, and multidisciplinarity. The project aims to meet the needs of the population suffering from chronic pain, who are often very frail and have other chronic conditions, and to improve their quality of life.

Expected Outcomes

  • Reduction of DC-I and related comorbidities
  • Increased quality of life and patient satisfaction
  • Research support
  • Ability to offer customised care, focused on the specific needs of the patient

The beneficiaries

The direct beneficiaries are people with DC-I who will be admitted to “Tecno-Algos”, planning care for about 1,400 people. Indirect beneficiaries will be caregivers, who will experience relief from caregiving and savings on ongoing expenditure on unnecessary visits and examinations. The Sistema Sanitario Nazionale will also benefit from a consequent reduction in demand for inappropriate care.
