The internal areas of Basilicata preserve an extraordinary natural and cultural heritage: forests, protected areas, agri-food production and historical and artistic testimonies that tell of centuries of life in small villages.
However, these areas suffer from depopulation, socio-economic decline and territorial inequalities. Targeted interventions are fundamental to reduce imbalances and create opportunities for sustainable development, enhancing the cultural and human capital of municipalities.
What the project involves
The project promotes active cultural welfare, transforming art from passive experience to collective participation. Through an artistic residency, citizens are involved in the creation of murals and creative works that redefine the artistic geography of the municipality, integrating sustainability and quality of life.
The initiative aims to create shared beauty, strengthen community ties and offer cultural models capable of attracting new people and investments, helping to combat depopulation and stimulate local creativity.
The beneficiaries
The direct beneficiaries are approximately 400 residents of the municipality, with particular attention to young people in situations of educational poverty, involved through schools, social services and youth associations.
Indirect beneficiaries include cultural workers, educators, artisans and citizens, who participate in the social regeneration of the territory, strengthening the relational fabric and creating new cultural, economic and tourist opportunities.
