Basilicata is an area rich in natural resources, but often threatened by hydrogeological instability, pollution and loss of biodiversity. In this context, it becomes urgent to promote projects that combine environmental protection, social inclusion and citizen well-being.

“Protected Environment” was created to respond to these needs, creating education and awareness-raising paths that enhance people and the environment, strengthening the link between community and territory.

What the project involves

The project includes educational and local discovery activities, such as guided excursions, environmental workshops and moments of socialization, designed to enhance individual skills and encourage personal growth. Participants gain awareness of the importance of respecting nature, the link between the environment and health, and forest heritage protection practices.

The initiative is proposed as a pilot project, with a strong focus on inclusion: each activity is accessible, rewarding and meaningful for each participant, promoting self-esteem, personal skills and active participation. The project also encourages volunteering, sharing experiences and exchanging knowledge, creating a solid and sustainable social network.

The beneficiaries

The direct recipients are around 80 people including members of the association, disabled people, elderly people and citizens who will participate in the project activities. Indirect recipients include the entire community concerned with the project and the territory.

By involving families and participants in all phases – presentation, planning and implementation – the project promotes social inclusion, active participation and valorisation of local environmental resources, promoting health, well-being and a sense of belonging to the community.
