Pole Pole School, in Turkana Norte, supports vulnerable children in an area shaped by drought, food insecurity and limited access to healthcare and education, offering daily meals, health monitoring and early childhood education. Many of these children depend directly on the centre's daily food to survive and grow.
In Spain, meanwhile, there is little practical education about global health and food inequality, leaving a real gap between the two realities. Bridging that gap calls for something more than raising sympathy: it means sustaining the prevention of child malnutrition at Pole Pole School while bringing this concrete reality to Spanish citizens in a rigorous way, not a purely charitable one.
The project
The project runs educational sessions in Spanish schools and community spaces on global health, food and food inequality, directly connected to Pole Pole School's own nutritional programme. Built on transparency, cultural respect and horizontal cooperation, sessions are grounded in real experience rather than abstract appeals, showing concretely how child malnutrition is prevented and what sustains that prevention day to day.
The aim is not to generate a charity mindset but to explain a concrete reality clearly, and from there invite responsible, informed involvement from Spain, generating reusable educational materials along the way and mobilising real support to help sustain the children's daily food and nutritional monitoring in Turkana Norte.
