The Sensory Garden

Fondazione Don Carlo Gnocchi is creating an outdoor sensory garden for older residents living with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia at the Centro Girola, using gardening, gentle movement, music and memory-based activities to ease agitation and isolation. Sessions are built around each resident's remaining cognitive and physical abilities, giving them real outdoor activity and regular moments of connection with staff, family members and the wider community around the centre.
