Shutters with Soul

ATRA brings together people facing social vulnerability, local artists and neighbourhood shops in Barcelona to design and paint permanent artistic shutters for local businesses, turning empty storefronts into shared works of public art. The project treats people affected by mental illness, addiction, gender violence or homelessness as genuine creators, rebuilding neighbourhood bonds and community pride through a public exhibition and community events built around the finished work.
