Culture in the First Person

akako.gr gives young people with disabilities across Crete a genuine pathway into cultural creation, from developing an idea through to producing and publicly presenting their own work, supported by professional mentoring built around accessibility from the start. Rather than treating disability as the subject of the work, the project treats young disabled people as its actual authors, giving them the same access to authorship, visibility and audience that other young creators already take for granted.
