Since the province of Malaga is a reference point for tourism, the training offered with this project aims to provide the necessary skills to work for the catering services offered by hotel and restaurant sector organisations and businesses in the city.
What the project involves
The project aims to create and consolidate an effective training model geared towards people with intellectual disabilities to enable them to gain access to jobs in hotel and catering sector businesses. Training will cover raw material purchasing, workplace preparation, meal and beverage preparation, service and catering, with a focus on safety protocols.
Expected Outcomes
- Learning the technical and social skills needed for employment in the hospitality industry
- Greater access to the labour market
- Improvement of self-management skills
The beneficiaries
The direct beneficiaries will include 20 unemployed people over the age of 18. Of these, 50% come from post-compulsory training and/or have completed training in ordinary companies; the remaining 50% belong to a group with difficulties in accessing employment (adaptation problems, old age, etc.). The indirect beneficiaries will include family members and staff of the companies involved, totalling about 50 people.
