Currently, the residence has an old facility and very limited communal spaces. Physical activity takes place in the central courtyard in the open air and when weather permits, as, on the contrary, the physical activity of the elderly decreases in more extreme climates.

What the project involves

The main objective of this project is to promote active and participative ageing of residents by maintaining and/or stimulating cognitive and motor functions through recreational activities and motor and cognitive stimulation.

The aim is to slow the progress of chronic and debilitating illnesses of elderly residents in the home, thus helping to change sedentary habits that foster a lack of mobility and dependence on caregivers for normal daily activities.

Expected Outcomes

  • Maintenance and/or improvement of cognitive and motor functions
  • Increased performance in daily routine activities
  • Less functional dependence

The indirect beneficiaries include 48 persons, including 7 members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, 24 direct care staff, 4 catering staff, 7 general support assistants, 4 nursing technicians, and 2 administrative staff.
