Every year, many emergencies could turn out better if more of the people nearby knew how to act. Building a culture of prevention and first aid from childhood, covering skills such as clearing a blocked airway, eating safely and using a defibrillator, is one concrete way to make a community more aware, resilient and ready to look out for one another.
The project
"Scuole e Comunità Sicure" offers free training in health, food safety and emergency prevention to citizens, schools and volunteers alike. Courses cover first aid, BLSD (basic life support and defibrillation), and how to clear a blocked airway, alongside dedicated educational pathways for schools and a public event that closes out the programme.
Practical training and hands-on learning build autonomy, responsibility and active citizenship among participants, while an ongoing network between schools, institutions, professionals and local associations gives the project the continuity and reach needed for a genuinely lasting impact on how prepared the community is for an emergency.
Who the project is for
The project's direct beneficiaries are around 700 people, including students, citizens, teachers, public employees, parents, educators and volunteers, reached through the involvement of at least 3 schools and more than 300 students.
Its impact reaches further, to families, local associations and public bodies, and to the wider community, who all benefit from a stronger collective capacity to prevent and respond to emergencies.
