ODV Società di San Vincenzo de Paoli runs Abito, a free clothing shop in Turin, and is expanding it with a youth-led sustainability programme that trains students and vulnerable young people in sewing and textile recycling. Turning discarded clothing into a genuine resource, the project gives young volunteers hands-on green skills and a real sense of purpose, while people who cannot otherwise afford dignified, quality clothing get to choose their own, free of charge.
Thunder Roma OdV funds its powerchair football team's participation in the 2026-27 Coppa Italia, covering costs that would otherwise be out of reach for a sport dependent almost entirely on public grants and fundraising. Long-distance travel across Italy for the national championship, plus the purchase and upkeep of highly specialised motorised wheelchairs, push annual costs past 20,000 euros, and this project targets the specific expense of taking part in this season's national cup.
Con.te.sto OdV brings children with autism spectrum disorder together with their neurotypical peers from school and parish groups for shared, guided play and learning activities in a small town in inland Puglia. Working alongside each other helps the children with autism build social, communication and motor skills in a warm, structured setting, while their neurotypical peers grow into advocates for the acceptance of disability within their own communities.
Asd Aps Sport Ability Roccaraso is adding accessible stands and proper trackside benches to its inclusive football pitch in Alto Sangro, where blind and visually impaired players already train and compete in five-a-side B1 football. Without an accessible spectator area, people with motor disabilities, along with the family members and caregivers who come with them, currently can't watch matches safely alongside everyone else, and the project closes that gap for players and spectators alike.
La Chintana Fenix odv trains volunteer handlers and their dogs for search and rescue work, preparing them to respond quickly when disaster strikes. The project covers the real, ongoing costs behind a working K9 unit: specialised training in realistic rubble fields, safety equipment for both handlers and dogs, and tools such as drones and GPS, open to anyone willing to take on this demanding but meaningful role, with particular attention to involving young people.
Associazione Nuovi Accordi runs an inclusive orchestral music group for adolescents and young adults with disabilities across several towns in the Bergamo area, giving each participant a dedicated companion and a pathway that traditional music courses rarely offer. Through 30 sessions of ensemble playing, individual lessons and open events, the project builds participation, listening and musical autonomy, addressing a real gap in accessible activities after school ends.
Gli amici di Daniela APS is opening an accessible residence in the mountains for people living with severe and complex disabilities and their families. The house offers a genuinely accessible place to stay, built around each guest's care needs, giving caregivers real respite and people with disabilities the chance to enjoy a holiday and social participation that is otherwise hard for them to find, while helping ease the isolation these families often face.
ANGSA Tigullio ODV runs a summer programme at a beach club in Cavi di Lavagna, giving children and young people with autism a place to enjoy the sea, take part in beach activities, and spend time alongside other children who are also spending their summer there. Working in small groups with qualified staff, the project builds social skills and independence in a setting shaped to include them, rather than asking them to fit in on their own.
Corporación Amigos de la Sexta Compañía Cristóforo Colombo is equipping volunteer firefighters in Valparaíso, Chile, with proper self-contained breathing apparatus, protecting them from the respiratory diseases and cancers linked to repeated smoke exposure at fires. The volunteers who respond to the city's fire emergencies, mostly aged between 18 and 50, currently face real gaps in the equipment that keeps them safe, and the project aims to close that gap for as many of them as possible.
Asociación Provincial Síndrome de Down de Málaga runs learning homes where young adults with Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities practise everyday independent living in a real, shared household, inside Down Málaga's own facilities. Through stays that combine self-care, domestic tasks and community participation, each young adult builds the practical skills they need before moving towards a more autonomous adult life, in a normal community setting rather than a simulated or purely clinical one.
Fermata d'Autobus ETS runs a shelter for women who have experienced violence and are also living with psychological fragility, a combination that often leaves them excluded from more traditional support services. Through personalised, ongoing psycho-educational support, the project helps these women, many of them under 35, rebuild personal, relational and economic skills, working towards self-determination, employability and a genuine return to independent, active life.
Aldeas Infantiles SOS Chile is fitting out a transitional home in Quilpué for young women who grew up in protective care and are now building an independent life. Support from these programmes often ends the moment a young person turns 18, exactly when the hardest part begins, and this home gives up to 6 young women at a time a safe place to live for around two years, with professional support as they finish their studies, find work and build their own future.
Fundación Freno al Ictus runs a structured support programme at CEADAC in Madrid for people rebuilding their lives after a stroke, once hospital treatment and clinical rehabilitation have ended. Weekly group sessions combine with individual coaching over a three-month cycle, giving each participant emotional support, peer connection and practical help reconstructing a life project, addressing a real gap that opens up once medical care alone is no longer enough to support recovery.
Fondazione La Locanda del Gigante supports people recovering from addiction, some of them coming from detention, as they near the end of a residential care programme and prepare to return to everyday life. The project gives them a role in the foundation's shop, selling the produce they have grown themselves during their time in the community, turning that work into real income and a practical first step back towards social and economic independence.
Jane Goodall Institute Italia trains teachers across Italy in Roots & Shoots, an educational methodology devised by Jane Goodall that guides students to observe their local area, identify real needs and design concrete actions to address them. By equipping teachers to run the programme independently, year after year, with new classes, the project aims to turn young people's genuine concern for the environment into real, lasting participation, rather than good intentions alone.
Still I Rise A.P.S. gives students from its school in Nairobi's Mathare settlement, already part of the school's own dance club, the chance to take part in an intensive international residency in Italy, creating and performing an original choreographic work. The project turns real talent that travel costs and distance from international artistic circuits would otherwise keep out of reach into a genuine, hands-on opportunity for growth, confidence and expression.
Centro de Grabación para Ciegos de Viña del Mar is turning complex geographic and disaster-risk information about the Valparaíso region into a free audio magazine for people who are blind or have low vision. Chile faces real, recurring risks from wildfires, earthquakes, tsunamis and severe weather, yet the technical information that could help people prepare and respond is rarely accessible to them, leaving a real gap in how ready blind residents can be for an emergency.
Casa Ronald McDonald runs free oral health days for children and adolescents in Chile who face real barriers, distance, cost or long waits, to accessing dental care in the public system. Alongside dental evaluations themselves, the project offers education and guidance on self-care for children and the adults responsible for them, aiming to catch problems early and refer them into the public system before they turn into more complex, harder-to-treat conditions later on.
Association of Parents for People with Autism Rethymno runs a vocational training lab for teenagers with autism and intellectual disabilities in Crete, helping them build the soft skills, workplace safety knowledge and professional behaviour that a seasonal, tourism-driven local economy demands. Working with local employers, the project identifies each young person's individual strengths and connects them to real placements and direct employment.
Associazione Nicco Paro runs A.M.O., a personalised physical activity programme for children and adolescents who are in treatment or have recovered from cancer, supervised by professionals and developed alongside hospital staff. The project helps them rebuild motor skills, autonomy and self-esteem after treatment ends, acting as a genuine bridge between the conclusion of medical care and a full, confident return to daily life, school and social relationships.
Cooperativa sociale Maestre Pie Venerini works with young people across the Castelli Romani area who are at risk of leaving school early or feeling cut off from their own community. Through educational workshops, experiential learning and school and career orientation, the project helps each young person recognise their own skills and turn them into a genuine, concrete plan for their own future, rather than leaving school without one at all.
ASD Sorrisi e Motori brings motorbike visits to hospitalised children, people with disabilities, older people and other fragile patients, using Mototerapia to ease isolation and bring a moment of genuine joy into otherwise difficult days. Young volunteers ride the bikes and take part alongside the people they visit, building their own sense of responsibility and civic engagement while creating positive, personal connections with children, families and the wider community around them.
In Sant'Antonio alle Piazze, a small hamlet of Leofreni with only a handful of residents left, a local community group is working to restore its abandoned 18th-century church, currently unusable because of a hole in its vaulted ceiling. Repairing the church would give the community back a place of worship and gathering, while also opening it up for cultural events, turning the building into the starting point for wider local development and tourism.
Associazione Mattia Mantovan ETS is bringing a portable ultrasound machine to paediatric and neonatology wards in the Turin metropolitan area, allowing doctors to scan young patients directly at their bedside instead of moving them to another department or hospital. Faster, more precise diagnosis means treatment can start sooner and with more accuracy, while babies and children, especially the most fragile ones, are spared the stress and risk of unnecessary transfers.
ATRA brings together people facing social vulnerability, local artists and neighbourhood shops in Barcelona to design and paint permanent artistic shutters for local businesses, turning empty storefronts into shared works of public art. The project treats people affected by mental illness, addiction, gender violence or homelessness as genuine creators, rebuilding neighbourhood bonds and community pride through a public exhibition and community events built around the finished work.

Cooperativa Paradigma trains young people with intellectual disabilities in scent detection work with dogs, then gives them a genuine peer tutor role, teaching what they've learned to other participants across a network of day centres. Working closely with a dog is known to build attention, care and collaboration, and here those skills become the basis for real responsibility, turning participants from recipients of a service into people others actively rely on.
Naturart brings together clinical care and local tailoring to support cancer patients in the area between Rozzano and south-west Milan, as they cope with the physical and psychological changes that treatment brings. Working with a local atelier, the project creates custom-made clothing suited to each patient's body and medical devices, alongside psychological support, helping patients hold onto their sense of identity and comfort rather than withdrawing from social life during treatment.
Aegean - Cyclades Preservation Fund brings the children of Paros into the Butterfly Valley, a protected nature sanctuary on their own island that most of them have never had the chance to properly visit or learn about. Through guided visits and hands-on activities, the project helps children build a direct, lasting connection with this ecosystem, developing the kind of ecological awareness and sense of stewardship that can carry into how they treat nature elsewhere on the island.
Fundación Andrés Olivares offers specialised psychological support to children and adolescents in the province of Málaga who have lost a parent to cancer, working closely with their surviving family. Through individual support and coordination with health and social services, the project helps each child process their grief at their own pace, aiming to ease the emotional and social difficulties that can otherwise follow a child well into adulthood if left unaddressed.
Sci Club Sarnico is turning a farmhouse in the Sebino and Bergamasca area into a permanent, year-round centre for young people with disabilities, offering the kind of ongoing socialisation, autonomy and training that too often disappears once school ends. Working with an existing local network of volunteers, schools and businesses, Cascina Donkey gives young people and their families a stable place to turn to all year, not just for a single season or activity.
Fondazione PIME ETS is adapting its museum in Milan to welcome visitors who are too often left out of standard cultural offerings: people with physical or cognitive disabilities, school classes from disadvantaged areas, and foreign residents, including many from the diverse San Siro neighbourhood where the museum is based. Using facilitated language, visual tools, storytelling and sensory experiences, the project turns the museum's collection into a genuine, shared point of access to culture.
Salvagente Italia trains summer camp staff, who often work with young children around pools and playgrounds with no first aid training and no legal requirement to have any, in how to respond correctly in a medical emergency. The project makes this training free for camps that could not otherwise afford it and helps each one run a crowdfunding campaign to buy its own defibrillator, building both immediate skills and a lasting resource for the community.
Fondazione MilleSoli works with teenagers in Milan's Municipio 5 to build a large collective mosaic out of recycled ceramics, giving them a hands-on creative outlet at a time when many report real psychological difficulties since the pandemic. Working together on the artwork builds focus, self-esteem and a genuine sense of belonging, while introducing ideas about the circular economy and giving each participant a visible, lasting contribution to their own neighbourhood.
AISIWH supports children and young people living with Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome, a rare genetic condition, through a combined programme of neuropsychological rehabilitation and gut health monitoring. UPLUNG treats these two areas together rather than separately, working with neurologists and neuropsychologists on each child's rehabilitation while tracking and correcting imbalances in gut bacteria that research links to worse neurological outcomes.
Formazione Ben-Essere e Salute APS offers free first aid and safety training to schoolchildren, teachers, parents, public employees and volunteers, covering topics such as choking response, safe eating and using a defibrillator. Starting the culture of prevention from childhood, the project aims to build a community that is genuinely ready to respond when an emergency happens, rather than relying on chance or on whoever happens to already be trained.
Bizrupt runs Ignite Teens, bringing hands-on training in entrepreneurship, responsible AI, sustainability and financial literacy to teenagers across Crete, with a particular focus on those living in smaller towns and villages who usually have fewer chances to access this kind of learning. Through school sessions and intensive bootcamps, teenagers work in teams on real local challenges, turning what they learn into practical ideas and building the confidence to think about their own futures.
Wondering Project APS brings theatre performances into green spaces around Vicenza, giving young children a direct, hands-on encounter with nature at a time when urban growth is steadily eating into the natural spaces around them. Alongside the performances, the project trains teachers and runs outdoor workshops for families, treating nature not as a backdrop but as a living space for learning, creativity and relationship, and building children's sense of care for their surroundings.
ONG CETSUR works with families in Penco, in Chile's Biobio Region, to rebuild the biodiverse home gardens many lost in the 2026 wildfires. Alongside neighbourhood and community groups, the project supports growing food again, using low-cost, easily replicable techniques, as a way to ease the daily costs of feeding a family, restore emotional balance, provide natural remedies, and bring back the biodiversity and green landscape the fires destroyed.
Orizzonti Sportivi ODV supports young people in Shisong, in Cameroon's Diocese of Kumbo, an area still recovering from years of civil war that damaged local infrastructure and disrupted education. Through hands-on activities around the stables and the racecourse, participants gain confidence, take on responsibility and develop pre-employment skills that can support their social and professional inclusion after school.
Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature is piloting a Food Rescue Point that redirects safe, surplus packaged food away from the bin and towards people who need it, run largely by young volunteers trained for the role. The project responds to a real, everyday gap: usable food gets thrown away in the same communities where people struggle to afford enough to eat, and there's currently no visible, reliable system connecting the two.
The HOME Project supports young unaccompanied refugee children living in one of its shelters in Athens, many of whom arrive in Greece with little or no previous schooling and significant experiences of trauma and family separation. The aim is a lasting, transferable model of community-based inclusion, developed together with local organisations.
akako.gr gives young people with disabilities across Crete a genuine pathway into cultural creation, from developing an idea through to producing and publicly presenting their own work, supported by professional mentoring built around accessibility from the start. Associazione Mimosa Amici del DH Oncologico di Borgomanero is bringing a mobile clinic to towns across the ASL Novara area, offering free health checks and cancer prevention information directly where people live rather than asking them to travel. The project works alongside the public health system's own screening programme, reaching areas and residents it doesn't currently cover, and building a stronger everyday culture of prevention among the area's most vulnerable citizens.
Vallese ASD is renovating the sports facilities of Goriano Valli, a small mountain village in Abruzzo still rebuilding daily life after the earthquake, where a lack of essential services makes sport one of the few genuine anchors against depopulation. With trained staff able to manage these therapies at home, the project makes this modern treatment accessible.

Built around music and youth-led volunteering, the festival aims to bring generations together, build young people's skills and sense of active citizenship, and strengthen the local culture of solidarity and support for cancer research.
Rete Malattie Rare APS works with people living with rare and chronic diseases across Italy, giving them real opportunities to tell their own story and take an active part in decisions about their own care. Through a storytelling award, a public exhibition and participatory work on shared health service charters, the project treats patients and caregivers as genuine partners in care, not passive recipients of decisions made without them.
Amici della Musica di Torino brings live, interactive concerts into residential care homes across the Metropolitan City of Turin, using music as a non-pharmacological way to support older residents' emotional wellbeing, cognitive stimulation and sense of connection. Each concert is built together with facility staff and shaped around residents' own physical and cognitive needs, turning a traditional concert into a genuinely shared, relational experience rather than a one-way performance.
Croce Rossa Italiana - Comitato di Canelli brings free cardiovascular risk screening and national hepatitis C screening directly to a rural corner of Piedmont that has no hospital emergency department of its own, with the nearest ones a real distance away in Asti, Acqui Terme, Alba or Alessandria. Sessions are spread evenly across the area so prevention doesn't depend on how far someone can travel, catching problems early, before they become disabling.
Adisli works with teenagers and young adults who have a mild intellectual disability or borderline intellectual functioning and are experiencing real social isolation. Combining psychological support, community leisure activities and help building everyday social autonomy, the project gives each young person the chance to form genuine, lasting friendships, addressing loneliness that tends to carry serious consequences for their mental health and independence.
Associazione Pro Infanzia APS ETS runs hands-on cooking workshops for teenagers living in its residential care community in Turin, many of whom come from backgrounds marked by marginalisation and limited opportunities. In a dedicated teaching kitchen, young people learn to make jams and preserves from start to finish, building practical skills and a sense of responsibility that can support their transition towards employment once they age out of residential care.
Anita e i suoi fratelli APS is working with the community of Portacomaro, in Monferrato, to map and remove the communication, organisational and cultural barriers that still keep people with disabilities from fully taking part in everyday local life. Through universal design and hands-on co-design with people with disabilities themselves, the project turns accessibility into an ordinary, shared responsibility across the town rather than something addressed only when a problem comes up.
Associazione Culturale BeLocal ETS brings the exhibition Muse Ribelli to the Polo Espositivo of Santo Stefano's church in Mondovì, using art history to explore how women have been represented and how they have claimed power within it. Guided tours, self-representation workshops and meetings with experts turn the exhibition into a genuine tool for inclusion, involving women in vulnerable situations, people with disabilities, older residents and students in building new relationships.
Ekonvoi ODV runs a solidarity food pantry in the province of Modena, buying essential food and hygiene products that local businesses don't donate, especially for children, elderly people and those with specific dietary needs, while also recovering surplus food from local producers and large retailers. The project responds to a real and growing local need: more families, including regular immigrants, single mothers and elderly people on minimum pensions, are struggling to afford enough to eat.
Comitato per la Vita "Daniele Chianelli" offers psychological support to patients being treated for blood cancers and related conditions in Perugia, along with their families and the hospital staff who care for them. Individual and group sessions run alongside training for ward staff, addressing the anxiety, fear and isolation that often accompany a long course of treatment, so that psychological care becomes as much a part of recovery as the medical therapy itself.
Asociación Amor sin Barreras runs educational sessions in Spanish schools and community spaces about global health, food and inequality, grounded in the real, ongoing work of Pole Pole School, a nutritional and educational centre for vulnerable children in Turkana Norte, Kenya. Rather than presenting a charity narrative, the project explains concretely how child malnutrition is prevented and invites Spanish students and families to engage with that reality in an informed, responsible way.
Centro Diego Fabbri ETS provides live audio description for theatre performances, prose, musicals and ballet alike, making them fully accessible to blind and visually impaired audiences. Trained volunteers describe the visual elements of each show in real time, so that people with visual disabilities can follow the performance alongside sighted audiences rather than missing what isn't spoken aloud, turning a night at the theatre into something genuinely shared.
nòva turns Novara's former Passalacqua Barracks into an open, accessible cultural space, bringing together people with disabilities, young people in fragile situations and second-generation citizens who are too often left out of the city's cultural life. Through accessible programming, workshops, residencies and open calls, the project supports emerging artists and talents while building a genuine sense of community around the space, using culture as a concrete tool for participation and inclusion.
Fondazione Borghetto ETS runs Casa della Gioia, a holiday home where people with disabilities spend two weeks by the sea in the company of volunteers, many of them school students completing their PCTO work-experience hours. Alongside caring directly for guests, students take on real, practical roles, from serving meals to organising afternoon activities, gaining hands-on experience while helping give families a well-earned break and guests a holiday built entirely around them.
Cooperativa sociale Il Seme runs a life-skills programme for young people with disabilities, adding music therapy, yoga, painting and a creative lab to help them build a fuller, clearer relationship with their own body and with other people. Each young person follows an individualised path built around their own abilities, interests and aspirations, working towards real autonomy and, where possible, active participation in society and in work, treated as a genuine equal rather than an object of pity.
