The Castelli Romani area is facing a complex social picture, with growing difficulties that weigh heavily on young people. In recent years, school dropout has been rising, often tied to socio-economic fragility, educational poverty, family difficulties and a loss of motivation to keep studying, all of which raise the risk of young people being left out altogether.
What is missing is not awareness of the problem but structured, ongoing support: without targeted training opportunities, effective orientation services and genuine places to gather, educational, social and emotional fragility tends to deepen rather than ease, and school dropout keeps climbing.
The project
InClusion promotes social inclusion and the socio-economic development of young people across the Castelli Romani area through integrated activities designed to counter school dropout, youth distress and social exclusion. Participants take part in educational and experiential workshops and school and career orientation pathways, built to reach them where they actually are.
At the centre of the project is empowerment: helping young people recognise and value what they are already good at, and turning those talents and interests into real resources for their own path forward. Autonomy, sustainability and a particular focus on youth self-entrepreneurship run through the whole programme, encouraging young people to see their own future as something they can actively shape rather than simply wait for.
Who the project is for
The project's direct beneficiaries are around 50 to 70 young people from the Castelli Romani area, mostly adolescents and young adults facing educational, social or relational fragility, at risk of school dropout, disorientation about their studies or work, or social exclusion.
